Message Templates

Build a WhatsApp template, submit it to Meta, and watch the decision arrive

Templates are what let you message a customer outside the 24-hour window, and template approval is where most people get stuck. Build the template here — header, body, footer, buttons — submit it to Meta without leaving the dashboard, and see its status, category, language and quality rating on one screen, with a notification the moment Meta rules on it.

Para kanino ito

Operators who know they need approved templates to message customers, but have never navigated Meta's approval interface and do not want to start now.

Ang alalahanin na sinasagot nito

"Template approval is a black box." It is not: status, category, language and quality rating sit on one screen, and you are notified when Meta decides.

How a template gets approved

  1. Build it

Choose a header — text, image, video, document or location — then write the body and footer and add buttons.

  2. Add your variables

Insert placeholders and provide example values. Meta requires examples at submission time or the template is rejected as malformed.

  3. Submit to Meta

Send it for approval from the dashboard. It sits as pending until Meta rules on it.

  4. Get told the outcome

You are notified when the status changes. Rejection reasons come from Meta and are shown as Meta wrote them.

Everything a WhatsApp template can contain

A template is more than a paragraph. Build the parts you need and see them in the same place your campaigns will use them.

  • Headers: text, image, video, document or location
  • Body, footer, and buttons
  • Button types configured at send time: quick reply, phone number, a fixed URL, or a URL whose ending is filled in per recipient
  • Approval status, category, language and quality rating on the list screen
  • Quality rating in plain words — good quality, needs attention, at risk — rather than a code
  • A language filter, so you can see only templates in the language you work in
  • A side-by-side comparison of two templates

One template, personalised across the whole list

Template variables bind to your contact data rather than to static text you paste in. Name, email and phone are available, along with seven custom fields you define — so a single approved template can address every person on your list by name, order number, appointment time, or whatever those fields hold for you.

Honest about what Meta will and will not give us

Two things you might expect to find here are deliberately absent, because building them would mean showing you numbers that are not real. Per-template analytics are not available: Meta rejects those requests for accounts that do not have the feature enabled, so rather than render a screen full of zeros and let you mistake them for measurements, we link out to Meta's own insights. There is also no in-app template library — Meta's library is linked instead of copied. We would rather point you somewhere true than keep you on our page.

  • Requires the Wiz Campaign or Wiz Pro plan.
  • Approval is Meta's decision, not ours. A submitted template stays pending until Meta rules, and rejection reasons come from Meta.
  • There are no per-template analytics in this product. Meta rejects those calls for accounts without the feature enabled, so we link to Meta's own insights instead of showing zeros.
  • There is no in-app template library. Meta's library is linked rather than duplicated.
  • A template containing variables needs example values at submission time, or Meta rejects it as invalid.
  • Named variables bind by their name and positional ones by their number, not by the order they appear in the text. Renaming a named variable breaks sends that use it.
  • A header accepts at most one variable.

FAQ

Mga Madalas Itanong

Why do I need a template at all?

WhatsApp only allows free-form business messages within 24 hours of the customer's last reply. Outside that window, a template Meta has approved is the only way to reach them.

How long does Meta take to approve a template?

That is entirely Meta's process and it varies. What the dashboard does is make the wait visible: the template shows as pending, and you get a notification the moment the status changes.

Can I personalise a template for each recipient?

Yes. Variables bind to contact fields — name, email, phone, and seven custom fields of your own — so one approved template personalises across your entire list.

Can I see how each template performed?

Not in this product. Meta does not return template-level analytics for accounts without that feature enabled, so instead of showing zeros that look like measurements, we link you to Meta's own insights.

What does the quality rating mean?

It is Meta's own assessment of how customers react to the template, shown in plain words — good quality, needs attention, or at risk. A rating that slips is a warning worth acting on before Meta acts for you.

Can I manage templates from my own software?

Yes. Templates can be listed, created and deleted programmatically as well as from the dashboard.
