An auditable list, not a mystery set of numbers
Every entry carries an optional reason. That sounds minor until a year has passed and nobody remembers why a number stopped getting bot replies. Bulk import and export mean the list can be reviewed properly — in a spreadsheet, with the reasons visible — rather than scrolled through and guessed at.
What excluding a number does and does not do
This is a narrow, precise control, and it is worth being clear about its edges.
- It stops bot and flow replies to that number
- It does not stop campaigns — that is what unsubscribes are for
- It does not remove or hide the contact
- Their messages still arrive in the shared inbox as normal
- Entries can be added and removed one at a time or in bulk
- The list can be exported, and managed from your own software
This is a bot exclusion list, not a marketing opt-out
Two different mechanisms, often confused. Excluding a number keeps the chatbot quiet for that person. Unsubscribing a contact is what keeps them out of campaigns, and that lives with contacts. Putting a customer on the exclusion list will not stop them receiving your Friday promotion.

- Excluding a number suppresses bot replies only. It does not stop campaigns and it does not delete the contact.
- The list is keyed by phone number rather than by contact record.
- Enter numbers in the same normalised form the platform stores contacts in. A differently formatted entry is a silently ineffective exclusion — which is why the bulk import exists.

Will excluded numbers stop receiving my campaigns?
No. This list only silences the chatbot. Campaign opt-outs are handled by unsubscribes on the contact itself.
Do I still see their messages?
Yes. Their messages arrive in the shared inbox exactly as before. The only difference is that no bot replies first.
Can I add a lot of numbers at once?
Yes. Import a file of number and reason pairs, with an optional default reason applied to every row.
Why does each number have a reason?
So the list is still explainable in six months. A list of bare numbers with no context is one nobody dares to clean up.
Does excluding a number delete the contact?
No. The contact stays exactly as it was.
